Travelling south from Kingsdown the white chalk cliffs stretch to beyond Folkestone. Walking or cycling along the cliff top paths can be challenging. Always remember not to get too close to the cliff edge. St Margaret's Bay is a gem, the South Foreland lighthouse provides tours and a tearoom and enjoy an excellent view over the ferry port from Dover White Cliffs Cafe (National Trust). Travelling over Shakespear Cliff to Folkestone the Lower Leas Coastal Park has extensive children's play parks and barbeque spots overlooking the sea. There is boating at Hythe and the narrow gauge railway (sometimes steam) takes you right down to Dymchurch, Romney Sands and Dungeness.
